Confidentiality

As an accredited therapist I have a professional duty of care to all clients and take confidentiality very seriously. I will not disclose any verbal or written information without your signed permission.

However, in very rare and exceptional circumstances counsellors reserve the right to break confidentiality if:

  • It appears that you are at serious and imminent risk to your own or to others safety
  • If we are made aware of any serious illegal activities
  • Where there is a legal obligation to disclose information

Even in these circumstances I would normally seek to discuss this with you in the first instance before contacting anyone else.
