Neale Haddon

I am an experienced Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working in the NHS, independent sector and private practice.

I am a BABCP registered Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and a Humanistic/Gestalt Psychotherapist registered as an accredited member of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP). I am an experienced clinical supervisor.

I have a wealth of experience as a Psychotherapist/Counsellor within a wide range of health care settings including Nottinghamshire Healthcare in both Secondary and Primary Care, Improving Access to Psychological Therapy services

I specialise in helping people with a range of both common and more complex emotional difficulties. I am particularly experienced in working with worry and anxiety, obsessions and compulsions, social phobia, low self-esteem and work-life balance

My Approach

Different people need different approaches. In the first assessment meeting we can discuss the best approach for you. This would also give us both the opportunity to see if we can work together. I can also make suggestions and referrals for other therapies if this would be in your best interest.

We are all unique individuals and therapy works best when it is tailored to each person’s specific needs. We will work together to create the therapy approach that is most suitable for you and tailored to you and your individual circumstances.

I have a warm, friendly, down-to-earth style, and feel passionate about helping people to improve their overall wellbeing. You are the expert in you and your life and adding my expertise in psychotherapy/counselling means we can find the right approach together.

From my service you can expect a safe and supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who’s objective, neutral and non-judgmental. I adhere to consistently high ethical standards of care, professionalism and confidentiality

My approach is evidence-based, meaning that I integrate current research with my clinical expertise to determine the best course of therapy for you. While my approach is largely cognitive behavioural (CBT) and solution focussed, the foundation of my approach is humanistic and relational. I can help you identify your personal strengths and build strategies that will enable you to make the changes you want.

As is good therapy practice we will together review your progress regularly to ensure that we are moving in the right direction and to determine the length of therapy.

I offer short term and longer term work. This will be decided on following an assessment and will be reviewed at regular periods. Once psychotherapy has been agreed as the outcome of the assessment I aim to meet with clients weekly at a regular time and day. Usually therapy appointment lasts for 50 minutes. I also offer supervision to trainees, psychotherapists, counsellors and other health care professionals looking to develop their knowledge and skills in psychological therapies.

Supervision

I supervise both trainee and qualified psychotherapists, counsellors and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. I offer individual and group supervision either face to face, email or by phone/skype. Please contact me for further information on costs for both individual and/or group supervision, and availability of places in groups.

Location

My therapy rooms are based locally in the Mansfield area close to the town centre. The consultation rooms are discreet, comfortable and private with plenty of on-site parking.

At our initial consultation we will cover in more detail your hopes and expectations for therapy

If you’re unsure whether psychotherapy/counselling is for you, please feel free to contact me for a no obligation chat.
